it only opens the door to the pathway to eternal life

Good to hear from you all and know everything is going good for ya :)
I forgot to ask last week and before I forget I'll do it now. We got asked as missionaries to ask our families to send us a story/testimony of Tithing and how its blessed your life. Maybe for family home evening you guys can write it and send it to me so I get it next week and share it with my investigators and members throughout my mission.
Also there is a family here, familia Villa, who has a daughter serving in Peru and they saw pictures of her companion and it was Hermana Blackmore. Maybe Bina wasn't her companion but saw her there, not sure. But they said me and her look like twins hahaha. How cool. And that I'm serving in her ward. Small world again!
We have been working a lot with less actives and found a 13 year old girl this last week. She got baptized when she was 8 but doesn't remember much and is the only active one in her family. She's a really sweet girl and we taught her lesson 1 and she was super excited about going to church. She went in the other room and asked her mom if she could come with us and very rudely she was like "you already got baptized! What more do they want! Tell them your going to the Catholic church on Sunday." To be honest I felt pretty sad. Sad for the girl, and her mom. That she doesn't understand the importance of enduring to the end. Baptism is essential but it only opens the door to the pathway to eternal life. We still have to continue keeping the commandments and living the best life we can. There is always more to do.
My companion goes home on the 17th of February. Its coming up fast! We have a baptism set for the 14th still. Well I love you all have a good week!!!!
Here is a picture of me after church, we were walking to a member's house.

This is Tristan, he loves me and always gives me hugs hehehe

it was the best sushi I've ever eaten!

First I wanna say Happy Birthday to MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know its this week but I only get today to say it!
This week we had interviews with the President. When it was my turn to go in he asked me to say the prayer and after he told me that i sounded native, yay! Also mentioned that Dad wrote him a few times..., he told me to say hi to you all. I also got a really bad cold last week and one of our investigators wanted to give me a shot on the butt because when you're sick here that's what you do and you heal way faster apparently. And no one needs a license to do it and she was trying to convince me but i said no way hahahah i was trying not to laugh.
Also the family I told you about last week has a baptism date for VALENTINES DAAAAY.(best valentines day ever) And they are progressing so well and going to church every sunday. They even have home teachers now that go visit them.
Its good to see the photos that mom sends me. I can't believe how different everyone looks, Vicky is growing so fast.
Well this week my companion was teaching an investigator a gospel principle and mentioned how we have an earthly father and compared him to our heavenly father and the love they both have for us. And it made me think of Dad and how much i miss him and I sure hope you know that i love you lots and that i appreciate all you do for me. Same with you Mom. I am so proud to call you my parents.
Well not much else has happened. Except I ate sushi yesterday and it was the best sushi I've ever eaten! a member made them for us.
Love you all so much!

i am not looking forward to being in that position haha

So we were having a pretty crummy day this last week. We had just got out of a lesson that left me very frustrated because the lady was super hard hearted and just didn't want to do anything to progress and was trying to contend. So anyways we went up to a different part of our area that we hadn't worked much in to contact this family. When we knocked on the door the lady was like "Hey we have been waiting for you! come in!!!" We walked in and she called her 5 sons and they all sat on the floor while we taught and then we left them the folleto (pamphlet) for lesson 1. We came back a few days later and their entire family had read the whole thing front to back and it was seriously soooo awesome. I wanted to cry. They accepted a baptism date and came to church with us on Sunday. I am sooo sooo grateful that the Lord led us to them.
My companion goes home at the end of this transfer and i think she is super sad about it. She always just randomly asks me super in depth questions about life and about what she should do when she goes and how to adjust. To be honest it just scares me more because i am not looking forward to being in that position haha.
Also today we had such a spiritual district meeting. It left me thinking so much. One of the APs came in and talked to us and said that coming on the mission yes we are showing the Lord we love him. But dedicating our 18 months by working working working is another thing. I just know that this time is so important and so valuable. I know that its important that everyone knows about the Restored gospel.
I am grateful for this knowledge and that I know Heavenly Father loves all of his children. I know that he will always walk with us through our trials and that we are never alone.
I don't know why I keep choosing this computer to email because it doesn't let me send pictures! :( well i love you all sooooo much and pray for you. AND I SENT YOU A CARD WITH PICTURES <3

halfway through I asked if I could switch back to Spanish

This week we did a family home evening with a member family. They are learning how to speak English and at first we were joking around about me giving the lesson in English then they were like "No for real, please do it so we can learn it better" So I thought it would be waaay easier and was kind of excited. The lesson was on Mosiah 24 and wow. My mind blanked and I kept having to think really hard for the right words and then halfway through I asked if I could switch back to Spanish. Haha, they said no and to keep going so I finished the lesson, but wow. It was a struggle. Who would have thought.
Also this week I found a lizard under my shoe! It was disgusting, I was hitting it with the broom and cut off its tail and its tail was squirming around still and it was trying to run away.
Dad I know you'd like the Mexican weather in Canada but trust me its super uncomfortable, I prefer the cold any day haha.
So one more highlight. I got an ingrown toe nail and cut it off myself at the beginning of the week. I thought it was all good and better but then it got infected and I ended up having to go to the clinic in the centro, clínica de los pies y sus enfermedades. How gross does that sound? Anyways the doctor had to give me a needle and numb my foot and cut the rest off and clean the infection. It was a terrible experience. I thought about mom and how she gets them bad and wow I feel bad for her haha. It is super painful but I am now healing
this is at the doctor... i'm covering my face with a tissue. and crying lol
On New Years Eve we ate dinner with an investigator family. It was super special because they literally have nothing and we only went to visit them and to say hi. She was making posoli and then we sang them a hymn and when we were done she had two bowls ready for us and we got to eat together. It amazes me how humble the people here are. Even though lots of them don't even know us and are living in poverty they always ask us if we want to eat with them or if we are hungry and give us the best they have.

I can't believe how grown up Vicky looks in those pictures. Wow she is so pretty! I showed my companion the pictures of the snow outside and she was like "QUE SUAVE YO QUIERO ESTAR ALLÍ!!!"
Well I can't think of anything else at the moment. I'll attach some pictures. Love you guys so much and don't forget tonight is family home evening.
Love you all!
